The 2021 Collection
22 years have now passed since the foundation of the MUSEUM and the exhibitions that have followed one another in these years were born and matured from the common root of the constant and laborious artistic research of those who until their last breath sought, met, supported the artists of the MAON. The time spent in study and research was not in vain. New authors just crossed, mature artists and national experiences meet once again in this challenge of the COLLECTION.
A core of works already present in previous exhibitions are flanked by experiences of artists who in recent years have entered with donations and whose availability for public use as a cultural offering, continues to underline the role of the MAON as a true conservator, guardian and disseminator of art of our time. Thirty works adhere to the walls of the MAON like letters of a sometimes clear and sometimes disconnected discourse. No chronological order of the works, nor of the artists who are gathered here chromatically, in an attempt to excite through colors and shapes.
Some pictorial experiences courageously placed alongside avant-garde artists, even if intentionally distant from each other, prove to be singular. The MAON archive contains an invaluable heritage of experiences that make it a treasure chest of art of the highest level year after year. The recent rearrangement of the COLLECTION sought to undermine the traditional chronological exhibition structure, creating a short circuit in the rooms between works by different artists and currents.
